2-Day Intensive Ultrasound Workshop

Day 1: Doppler Ultrasound in Obstetrics

The first day focuses on the vital role of Doppler ultrasound in maternal and fetal care. Through interactive lectures and guided hands-on practice, participants will build a solid foundation in Doppler principles and their clinical applications. Led by Dr. Mohamed Ibrahim Ali (MBBS, MSc, PhD), Assistant Professor at the University of Hargeisa, attendees will learn how to assess fetal well-being, evaluate placental circulation, and accurately interpret key Doppler parameters, including the umbilical artery, middle cerebral artery (MCA), and uterine artery. Practical sessions will allow participants to perform supervised real-time scans to reinforce learning.

Day 2: eFAST Ultrasound in Emergency & Trauma

The second day is dedicated to emergency and trauma ultrasound, focusing on the eFAST (Extended Focused Assessment with Sonography in Trauma) examination. Under the guidance of Dr. Mohamoud Hashi (MD, radiologist). Participants will gain essential life-saving skills. The training includes rapid patient assessment techniques, detection of internal bleeding, pneumothorax, and hemothorax, and the integration of ultrasound into emergency clinical decision-making. Hands-on sessions will ensure participants are confident in performing eFAST in real-world scenarios.
