The Somaliland Medical Association (SLMA) has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Frantz Fanon University (FFU) to strengthen collaboration in medical education, professional training, research, and the continuous improvement of healthcare services in Somaliland.
The agreement was formally signed by the President of the Somaliland Medical Association (SLMA) and the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Frantz Fanon University (FFU).
Through this partnership, SLMA and FFU will work together to develop and implement joint academic, professional, and research initiatives that contribute to strengthening the capacity of healthcare professionals and medical students.
Key areas of collaboration will include:
* Medical education and academic development, supporting the continuous improvement of medical education and learning opportunities.
* Professional training and Continuing Medical Education (CME), providing opportunities for doctors, healthcare professionals, and medical students to strengthen their clinical and professional competencies.
* Research and scientific collaboration, encouraging joint research activities, knowledge generation, publications, conferences, and other scientific initiatives addressing priority health issues.
* Capacity building, supporting the development of practical skills and competencies among medical students, doctors, and other healthcare professionals.
* Healthcare quality improvement, promoting initiatives that contribute to safer, more effective, and evidence-based healthcare services.
* Knowledge and experience sharing, creating opportunities for academics, clinicians, researchers, and students from both institutions to exchange knowledge and expertise.
* Joint academic and professional activities, including workshops, seminars, conferences, training programs, and other initiatives of mutual interest.
