Somaliland Medical Association (SLMA) and Somaliland Private Hospitals Network (SOLPHONET) convened a high-level meeting aimed at enhancing the quality of healthcare services and strengthening professional development across Somaliland. The meeting was facilitated by PSPH.
The discussion brought together representatives from both organizations in a collaborative and forward-looking dialogue focused on addressing key challenges within the health sector. Participants emphasized the importance of improving service delivery standards across private hospitals, with a strong focus on patient safety, quality of care, and adherence to best clinical practices.
A central theme of the meeting was the urgent need to expand Continuous Medical Education (CME) opportunities for health professionals. Both parties highlighted that strengthening CME programs is essential to ensure healthcare workers remain updated with evolving medical knowledge and skills, ultimately leading to better patient outcomes.
The meeting also underscored the importance of stronger collaboration between professional associations and healthcare providers. By working together, Somaliland Medical Association and Somaliland Private Hospitals Network aim to implement joint initiatives that will support capacity building and improve overall health system performance.
The engagement concluded with a shared commitment to continue dialogue and translate discussions into actionable steps, reinforcing a unified effort to advance healthcare services in Somaliland with the support of PSPH.
